According to Digitimes—a sentence often fraught with danger—Intel's Chief River processor platform will be announced at CES in January, arrive in early 2012, and bring with it native support for USB 3.0. The Sandy Bridge successor will be based on 22nm Ivy Bridge processors. That feels so long to wait, given that the speedy transfer technology exists right now, but I'll take what I can get.
