Google Tapes Up Gmail Sprain

Google says it has restored email access to some Gmail users who lost it over the weekend. Steve Jobs Was Denied a Knighthood [Apple]

Despite Bill Gates being knighted by the Queen in 2005 (pictured), Steve Jobs was reportedly cockblocked in 2009—and all because he refused to speak at a political conference. The news has only just come out today, after a former Labour Party politician spilled the beans, saying they tried to recruit him to speak at the party's annual conference, but Jobs either wasn't keen to align himself with a political party—a UK one at that—or just didn't have the time to brown-nose with then-Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Chord Electronics builds a Google boombox you can't buy, but wish you could

Do you find yourself uninspired by the staid and predictable aesthetics of today's boomboxes? Well, if you dig the red, yellow, green, and blue look, the folks at Chord Electronics have delivered a Google-fied custom portable stereo. Chord pimped out its Chordette Carry -- which has Bluetooth connectivity, USB, optical and digital coax inputs, a four input preamp, and a 40W amp -- with a Google-approved-and-ordered paint job. We don't know if the Mountain View version has the exact same innards as the standard Carry or what exactly El Goog plans to do with this little sonic gem, but we do know that it isn't going on sale to the public. Too bad, that Google branding would have given us mad cred on the streets, yo.Chord Electronics builds a Google boombox you can't buy, but wish you could originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 01 Mar 2011 09:24:00 EDT. What Makes @ACarvin Tweet? (TCTV)

The recent compounded protests and revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa have had the unintended side effect of highlighting information nodes/elites like @Ghonim and @Sultanalqassemi, people who electively become human routers of related information on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

NPR's Senior Strategist Andy Carvin has been one of the most prominent Western information routers, spending 15-17 hours a day tweeting out news about the region, getting rate limited and subsequently whitelisted by Twitter, and at one point becoming so synonymous with #Egypt that someone anonymously sent him a shirt "I followed @Acarvin before #Egypt did."

T-Mobile Pulling The Plug on Danger-Powered Sidekicks [Smartphones]

If you still have a Sidekick phone running the Danger OS, its days of being a fully functioning device are numbered. After May 31, 2001, the data services provided by Danger will no longer be available, essentially neutering the internet-centric phone. If you were unaware, Danger is now owned by Microsoft.
